I have heard that Saw Palmetto and Beta Sistosteral (sp)? are two great things for angrogentic alopetia. Several swear it regrows hair. Im a female who has thinned and I have no idea why - but started taking it just to see if it helps as all my blood tests are normal for anything else.
Would love to hear if anyone has had sucess with this method?:)

I was put on steriod spray and cream by derm. It helped slow my hair loss down, then I had a baby and could not use those products. Since then I am progressively worse so I turned to using wigs. I also supplemented with vitamins the seemed to help a good hair vit. like nat. bounty will be good.

I currently take saw palmetto extract (it's stronger than the berry). It took about three to six months but I did see some regrowth. Excellent supplement. :)

I'm 19 years old with a receding hairline and of course the gradual thinning in the back. I've been taking saw palmetto and beta sitosterol for a couple months and my hair loss has stopped and new hairs are starting to regrow. I take a little more than the average dosage for the saw palmetto but after doing studies.. there doesn't seem to be any serious side effects. Saw Palmetto + patience works!
