View Full Version : Need a good doctor at Texas Children's in Austin

Due to insurance changes with my husband's new job, I have to switch doctors for our son, age 7, who has Diabetes Type 1. We were going to Children's in Little Rock, but now we will have to go to the one in Austin. I am taking him to his old pedi in September so that he can refer us to Austin. I'm sure all the pedi enco's are good in Austin, but is there a particular one that is better?

Son is on Lantus, and gets the Novolog 3 times a day. 30 grams of carbs per 1 unit of Novolog. Little Rock told me no insulin pump yet, but I hear it's so much better.

Plus I need some more good snack/dinner ideas. I've run out, and I feel son is getting bored with it all. Sometimes he doesn't even want to eat! Any good websites that will help me, or good books?

TIA! :)
