Hi there,

I was just wondering how Larbo was doing?? I think his reversal is this week if I remember right! I am starting my clear liquid diet tomorrow in prep for Thursday's surgery. My doc said to plan on being there a week considering how my last surgery went (adhesions/ileus for a MONTH). I am hopeful that we will have no complications and I will get out of there before too long. He is going to keep me NPO for a while in an effort to prevent the month long ileus I had last time! (Of course the last surgery was SO much more invasive). He will also do an exploratory surgery to make sure all is well internally.

Please pass my well wishes on to Larbo. Hope you are holding up OK too. Keep me posted on his progress!

Take care and good luck!

Hi Cats, larbo had his surgery on Tuesday. He was on clear liquids on Monday and had to take 2 over the counter laxatives before going to bed. He didn't have much time to think about food on Monday as he was busy having tests done. All was well ,resection had no leaks and pet scan showed no cancer! :blob_fire His surgery lasted a bit over 2 hours as the surgeons repaired a large hernia also. He wasn't in very much pain this time around as the surgery is less invasive. |All his sutures are internal. It almost looks like his stoma was glued shut. The only pain that he had to complain about was gas pains from his colon waking up. :dizzy: He first passed a tiny amount of stool late Friday night. Was very gassy most Sat. and finally passed a fair amount of stool early Sunday morning. He was able to leave the hospital Sunday afternoon and we returned home yesterday. Today he has had to make frequent bathroom runs. Our biggest worry now is to get his INR levels therapeutic as he is a high risk for blood clots. He is giving himself Lovenox injections along with coumadin 2X daily.|He has enough Lovenox for one more injection. His primary care physician says that he is close enough to his target range that we won't have to refill the prescription. He gets his blood tested again Friday morning.
I hope you have a successful reversal Cats. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Hugs Kathy and Larry:angel:
