Hi

I bought a home test blood glucose kit because i have been showing signs of diabetes - thirsty, hungry, tired, blurred vision etc.

So I tested myself (empty stomach) and the meter said my blood glucose was 6.7.

What does this indicate and should i persue the matter further?

Also, what are the best times of day to test etc?

Thanking you!

The 6.7 (120 in the US) fasting is a bit high. Fasting should be below 6 and 2 hours after a meal below 7.7. You are in the might-soon-be-diagnosed-as-diabetic range if you are not careful and if you don't take better care of yourself vis-a-vis diet and exercise. You have what some call some glucose impairment. That is a fasting range between 100 - 125 (6 - 6.9).

You should talk to a doc and have some tests done including an A1c.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Cora
