I have diarrhea predominant IBS with mucus. Sponsor bulletinboard25 07-22-2006, 09:51 PM I've taken Librax before... I've taken like 20-30 different prescriptions. What you're taking now is an anti-chollergenic combined with a benzodiazepine (anti-anxiety drug). I found that one to be a pretty good combination because it helps the "what if" there are no bathroom thoughts. Right now I'm taking donnatal, a similar med to Librax. There are so many different meds you could try it's not even funny. Even if that medicine doen't work.. there are lots in the same class--Donnatal, Donnatal Extentabs, Levsin, Levsin SL, Bentyl, Pamine, Pamine Forte, and Nulev (I'm sure there are others). bluelizzi06 07-24-2006, 09:46 AM i take buscopan tablets and have found them very helpful for me. kasannshep 08-12-2006, 10:09 AM Hi i have tried colavax, biscopan, and none of them has helped, but 8 weeks ago a consultant at the hospital prescribed spasmonol and they have been great, but last week i went for another test at the hospital it was for a camera up ypu no were and since then the pains have returned, i wish i had never taken this test , has i found it very painful, but most people i have spoken to who have also had this test had no pain what so ever, but i have a idea it was to do with the doctor who peformed it on me, well that is the conclusion i came to, in talking to the staff that were on that day, i was told by some one else who suffers with ibs, that the herb capsulles psyllium husks have worked for her, she has no pain or bloating any more, but looking at the directions, i found it very unerving to try them , what with the chocking hazzard with them, has any one else tried these and what do you think, i would be most interested to find out, the pains again are so bad, that i would love to try them, any thing to get rid of this awfull pain. kate shnswms 08-13-2006, 09:04 AM I use Metamucil which gives me some relief. Do not worry about the choking part. That is only if you don't drink enough water with it. |
