I believe all of you when you say what a difference it makes when you take cinnamon to lower your blood sugar numbers? My husband has been diabetic (on Glucaphage & something else) for 2 yrs. Why hasn't the Dr's ever told him to take it? What's wrong with these Dr's...it seems as though they want a person to stay sick.

So, it takes 1/2 t. of cinnamon once a day to improve the numbers & you can buy these in capsules at GNC? Is that right?

Thanks for all your posts on the use of cinnamon for diabetics!

The sad truth is doctors don't know everything, how can they? How much time do they spend in medical school on diabetes? And cinnamon, my goodness they don't make any money on that. Do I sound cynical? Yup. And you can buy cinnamon tabs at walmart too. Very cheap there. Or add it to your food... you know the same stuff you add to receipes.

I just spoon it from the container I buy at the grocery store. Costs a good deal less than capsules.

Is it half a tablespoon or teaspoon, as I haven't seen much about it? Although I haven't looked into it either, but will be doing that....anyone wanna let me in on this little secret?

Fact is, it helps some people, makes no difference whatsoever for others. Don't know if anyone's ever done a double-blind study on cinnamon (and I suspect not, because there'd be no money in it), but I myself have tried it, as have several diabetic friends, with absolutely no improvement or, in one case, such marginal improvement that it wasn't worth the effort. <sigh>

Can't hurt to try it, though, but I'd stay on the medication until/unless the numbers come way down.

The above poster is right - word just hasn't gotten out. One nurse told me they had just gotten information on it in their office within the last 6 months and it's been on the internet for years. Based on the results on this board, it is very effective for most people. For the ones it doesn't work for, I wonder if they increased the amount if that would help. Often I've read 1/2-t daily plus there's one guy that takes 3 t a day after each meal. So I guess he's figured out what works for him. I got bumped off the this board for posting a reliable url previously so I'll leave it at that.

As said above, it doesn't work for everyone. I tried it for a while, about 3 weeks, about 1/2 tsp or so per day on some sort of compatible food. It didn't help my BS at all, and did give me a stomach ache, and I'm not one to have much gastric effects from anything. It is certainly cheap enough to try, and probably can't hurt, unless the person has a hypersensitive stomach.

Blood glucose can be reduced for Type 2 Diabetics.

In search of some effective, easy & result oriented home remedy, I
rediscovered,
experimented, tested & conclusively found the results as amazingly
encouraging to
reduce my "Blood Glucose". My further research & results confirmed the
scientific
reasons to support.
Still, without any claim or guarantees, Its a humble submission for
those,open to the
traditional experiments to enjoy the possible or perceived benefits, if
any.

" Soak over night, 8-10 Raisins (seedless green or golden dried grapes) in
1 teaspoon
of fresh lime juice. Eat them next morning before breakfast, with 1/2
teaspoon each of
cinnamon & fenugreek Powder daily.

Take some natural garlic, vitamin C & B6 daily, with the food rich in
Magnesium & Chromium. If finding natural is difficult, take them as Tablets or Pills.

This simple & easy home remedy, as a supplement, can remarkably reduce
the blood glucose in majority of Type 2 Diabetics.
Make sure to continue the prescribed medicines & reduce the dose only
under professional medical advice."

Sir, I have shared my experience, and I will be glad if this helps some
one like me.
