My DD has started on meds for being Bipolar. I just noticed a post about someone saying there BOOBIES hurting, and didn't think anything about it until now, my DD is 8 and has mentioned in the last two weeks that her boobies are hurting too. She is on Seroquel and Prozax, is this a side effect, as I didn't read anything about it on the pages I was given and the info out of the box? Any info appreciated.

ive answered a few posts on here about this as it has applied to me big time in the past! i think its because a lot of meds contain prolactin, a hormone which causes production of breast milk. i was taking paroxetine when i got a lot of problems with this, all it said was that it can cause leaking of breast milk but never mentioned anything about the pain. i think they should do as it does seem to be a common complaint.i used to be in agony and some nights couldnt even sleep because of it.
i dont think a great deal can be done unless a change of meds is considered (i did find it was better on some meds but as the paroxetine worked well for me i was reluctant to change it). My doctor did prescribe me some tablets for the breast pain (they began with a P i think) and they did seem to help, so maybe mention this next time your DD is at the doctors.
