Well, I *was* going to say everything is going pretty well, but I just managed to drop a full cup of tea off my bedside table . And I am home alone, and I couldn't do a good job in cleaning it up. OF COURSE, it spilled on one of my velcro shoes, and all over the phone cord and power cords on the floor. Sigh. Oh well. What's done is done.
So anyway, I got my bandages off on Monday. My feet don't look too bad. They are bruised of course, but they look better than I thought they would. My doc used dissolving stitches, so I didn't have to have stitches removed. Right now, there are steri-strips on there, which should come off in about 3 weeks. I got these footie things, with a gel cushion, that I have to wear with my gym shoes most of the time for the next 6 weeks. I met with a physical therapist, who showed me the exercises I am doing 3 times a day.
The pain is not too bad. My feet hurt most about a half hour or an hour after I do the exercises and ice my feet. They kind of throb and burn, but then it goes away. The darvocet helps. I am still supposed to stay off my feet this week. Next week, I can move around more, depending on my pain. I can also shower, which I plan to do later today.
I guess things are progressing well. Oh, I saw the before and after Xrays. What a difference! I do still have a slight bump where the bunions were, but it's small, and I can tell from the Xrays that the joint is now straight. I can't wait till I can get a pedicure. :)
Hope everyone else is well!
