View Full Version : Balding or paranoia?

Hey all,

I had my hair long and medium length for pretty much my entire life. I recently got it cut really short, and i noticed that you can see my scalp through my hair pretty easily in certain lights, especially on the top of my head, just in front of my crown. Im freaking out! Is this normal, like do some people just have thin hair like this? I have kind of a ridge/bump on the top of my head where this is happening. Could this be causing a trick of the light, making it seem like i have thinning hair up there? Or is this the first signs of balding?? Im only 19!

It should be noted that my brother is 22, and he is definetly going bald, he's lost most of his hair i'd say. But my dad is 56 and he's only starting to lose his hair now. Im not sure about my grandparents, i cant remember if they had hair when they were fairly young. Oh yea, I'm a guy, with really fine hair.

Anyway, anyone have any input? Please give me some hope lol! Thanks.
