Hi was hoping I might get someone to read this who has the same problems and give me a little reassurance cause like everyone else I think alsorts and have never suffered from headaches until christmas and have now had them everyday since. I am going for a MRI on Tuesday of next week so I think I might settle a little after that, but the pain, at the moment I have it in the back of my neck and upwards, I keep getting very very sharp stabbing pains in different parts of my head and bad pain inbetween my eyes and temples, really getting me down, really spoils everything, some days I can cope but most of the time its alful. My doctors have been saying for months that its a tension headache, and it doesnt matter what I take it doesnt shift it, but how can it hurt so much, anyone who wants a chat and can cheer me up a bit it would be much appreciated.

I've got a similar deal, going on 2 years. Thus far Amitriptolene seems to be the only thing that minimizes them a bit. I'll try and write more, but I understand your pains, and it is very difficult to deal with. My diagnosis is New Daily Persistent Headache. It is one horrible thing to deal with.

Hi,

As a young person, i got one headache peryear. My hus became ill in 96 nad I started with the headaches, getting sick, etc. It took years for the doc's to figure out it was tension headches... MRI's.. Cat scans.. phyiscal therapy, whihc did help on a short term basis as they would do these deep heat wraps. i had surgery for something else and my headaches caused more pain than the surgery. I still don't have it all figured out but it is somewhat better. i have to get enough sleep, sleep on the cORRECT pillow and not with my neck arched, drink water and zero caffine-dehydrates muscles- stay on my antidepressant for stress relief and take meds and relax as soon as I feel the pain coming on... watch my posture. Doc says I don't have migraines bit I take a 2 meds when things are bad, via shot. One is a migraine shot and one is pain killer. I noticed that when I gave up caffeine entirely, the headaches almost entirely dissappeared. The other thing that i think helps, is to do someting physical to get the energy flowing outward instead of inward, basketball, etc. I hope you feel better soon.

I, too, know just how you feel. I've had a headache for going on 4 years. I hate to let you know it can last that long but it can. I have chronic migraine and they have no clue as to why.

I am also taking Amitriptolene and it has helped a lot. I just started it a couple months ago. I also homeschool my kids and it has been hard. However, after I while I just sort of got used to it and did what I had to do. Some days I was in bed, in the dark but most of the time I just worked through it.

Not easy though. Just know you are not alone.
