i just shaved my entire vagina/pubic area because my boyfriend has been getting warts and i suppose i will start getting them as well. i just found a small pinkish bump on the pubic region above my vagina. does this sound like the beginning of a wart? it looks like a small pimple but definitely is not a pimple. i'm afraid it is going to get bigger and turn into a wart. does this sound familiar to anyone? how do warts start off? this is so frustrating. i wish i didnt have to deal with this. i wonder if life is ever going to be worth living...doesnt really seem like it since i'll have to deal with this crap for the rest of my life. do warts ever stop coming? can your body supress the virus and eventually you wont get warts or am i going to have to deal with this into my 30s, 40s, 50s, etc.? is it possible to have the virus and just NEVER get warts?? i have so many questions, its flooding my brain. i cant concentrate on anything. this absolutely sucks.

Just take a deep breath and slow down! LOL . You are worrying about a lot of things all at once. There is a possibility that people who have the HPV virus will never show symptoms. It has to all do with your immune system, because it is a virus. The bump was probably just because you shaved. It is probably nothing to worry about. I would keep an eye on it. Warts may take months to show up. If you do ever get warts, you will get medicine to take away the symptoms of the warts, but the HPV virus itself will always be there. After treating the warts there is a good possibility that they will never come back, but in some cases it does, and you just treat it and go on with your life. Its really not a big deal, I know you are prolly worried out of your mind, but there are worse things that could of happened. Be thankful that you will be able to find out soon if you do or dont have it and just treat it and be done with it. Hope this helps! I did a lot of research on HPV and GW! :)

Hey
I think you are worrying about alot of things at the moment but like Monroefan said worse things could of happened. Im having to go through all HIV tests every month as my BF has just been diagnosed with it and i think that is much worse. Makes me laugh when i see people worrying and saying 'is there much point living' cos yes there is, i realise that now with all the HIV. I wouldnt want you to be in my situation and i dont want sympathy just my point is look on the bright side and be thankful you arnt in risk of any thing else. Well be careful and keep an eye on things. The bump is probaly from shaving, i shave and i used to get that when i first started shaving(plus shave down otherwise that causes in growing hairs) Well anyway good luck

thanks for the replies. i am known to freak out about things for no reason, but i know i have the virus and i'm dreading the day i actually get warts on my vagina! the thought alone sickens me. i know there are much worse things, but this is still a big shocker to me. well thanks for the replies, and i will definitely keep an eye on it...even though i'm pretty sure its a wart. i tried popping it like a pimple and nothing happened. there is no hair in there either, and i've had ingrown hairs before, and this is nothing like it... oh well though, i guess it could be worse.

Okay. Since this seems a good thread to ask. I have also suddenly noticed a few bumps like that, but there is also 1 larger bump lower down. I shave, so i understand about the ingrown hairs. But this other one doesn't look like that. I don't have any of the genital warts symptoms and it's just one. Doesn't GW generally pop up in more than just one. It doesn't appear to change or grow or anything. And it's not like cauliflower. I do have a hereditary thing where i have moles pop up in different places. Could this be what that is?? It looks like my other moles, just larger than i'm used to. Please help.

Not sure why no one has mentioned it, but go get tested by your doctor/gyno. That's the best way to know.
