I had sever dysplasia a couple of years ago and had my Leep procedure. It has now been two years and all paps are normal. Is it safe to assume that by body has fought off the HPV?

No. It isn't safe to assume that.

Hey there.........Congrats on your succesfull leep and normal paps! That is wonderful news! While it is impossible to know if the virus has "left the building" it is a great sign that you are getting normal paps. I think you should "assume" that you are still a carrier....but in the scheme of things you should just be thrilled that at this moment the virus is doing NO damage to your body! So relax and stay healthy and just always remember to get your yearly pap!

thank you...I am so amazed and yet jealous about the new vaccine for hpv causing cervical cancer...I have been advocating it to every female I know that has not had it already...I know at least 5 or 6 girls at my college that have had the leep procedure done.
