Hi, I have now been on Forteo for 33 days. For the first two weeks I had some troublesome side effects, mainly bone pain. Also had headache and flu like symptoms. I have continued to have bone pain, but was usually just troublesome after my shot for 2-3 hours. Well, last night the pain didn't let up and I didn't sleep much. My arms, legs, hands and feet ache constantly. I can only take Tylenol for pain and it doesn't help much at all. I called my pharmacist this morning and he wasn't much help. Said it was a side effect, which I already knew! What I don't understand is why the pain got better then suddenly got worse. Has anyone else had this problem? I would appreciate any comments. Thanks, Spongebones

I haven't had any bone pain or other side effects. According to the instructions the Forteo takes 30 minutes to be absorbed and 4 hours to go out of your system. I'm sure there's a half life to it and with continual daily probably some is always in your system. Did you have any bone pain before you started using it?

Taape, Thanks for the reply...No, I didn't have bone pain before. My bone density is very low, but had no pain or symptoms before being diagnosed two years ago after a routine Dexa. This is certainly something new. Spongebones

I'm sorry you are encountering bone pain, SpongeBones. I've been fortunate, like taape, and haven't encountered any recognizable side effects except the darn doughy flab rolls in the abodomen and doughy thighs that I tend to think are due to the Forteo. I hope these bone pains pass quickly and then cease to occur altogether.
