so for the past week and a half or so whenever i feel constipated, as i strain on the toilet bright red blood droplets come out. it's a pretty significant amount... enough to turn the toilet water bright red. it doesn't hurt at all... and no stool comes out... or if i does it's a very very tiny amount. when i wipe there's just bright red blood on the toilet paper, and it cleans up easily (doesn't leak or anything) though sometimes when i wipe i notice what look like little clumps of mucousy blood. i don't get it. i'm not in pain... i'm not sure why i'm constipated either. i'm a 19 year old female with no prior disorders or anything, however i recently began taking birth control so i'm not sure if that could be contributing to it. either way it's kind of an embarassing subject to bring up and i'd rather not go to a physician unless there's a general consensus that it's really deemed necessary. i can be a bit of a hypochondriac... and i google searched my symptoms which i tend to do (which is awful) because now i'm convinced i have colon cancer or something. ugh. please help me :(

Hi there. I am definitely not a doctor but I can share with you a similar experience my husband had. He did the exact same thing on the toilet for about 6 months. Me, being the over protective wife that I am, thought the worse possible also. We did go see our primary physician right away and the diagnosis was that my husband had hemmroids. He didn't feel any pain either. I would advise you to go get it check out right away. Remember, doctors are use to seeing patients with a wide range of problems. Don't me embarassed - they aren't. Also, make sure to include fiber in your diet! Good luck!
