I had horrible and vivid nightmares that were so vivid and realistic. Also I felt that my depression got worse and I felt really manic. My psychiatrist also did not want to believe me he was of course fired after I finally convinced him to ween me off of the awful pills (which took a lot of talking and debate). He kept trying to brainwash me into thinking that my problems would get worse. When in fact they got a ton better after I was weened off of it. Never in my life had I felt so awful.

I am curious about your experiences.

I also had the vivid dreams and nightmares. Hated it. But otherwise it worked prety well for me. I was only at 75mg at my highest,and it was for situational depression and anxiety. Now,.... the side effects of weaning off of it are a different story. Pretty awfull,but a lot worse for some of the people on here. I will never go on it again ,and now chose to handle my depression and anxiety through exercise ,diet ,and suppliments.
You'll probably get a lot of different responses to this question as there are some people on here who really had a bad time with effexor. Did you know there was a petition with over 11,000 signatures of people who had their own negative exsperiences with Effexor.Also a class action suit. You're Dr. was very ignorant and close minded if you ask me. Good luck...

Effexor is a funny drug you either hate it or you love it. I have vivid dreams but I always have had them. For me Effexor helps me to feel more balanced and prevents the lows from getting to bad. Of course when the day comes to stop taking it I will probaly hate it.

My dreams are very vivid as well, kind of funny though nothing scary as of yet. I find I am dreaming of people i see sometimes but don't know. It's crazy! Ha!
I feel balancd on effexor, no more sadness or anger, just happy most of the time.i am on 37.5 and it seems to be working for me so far.
