After being on prilosec, then generic prilosec, I started developing a burning sensation deep in my throat, sometimes radiating upward into my mouth area. This would happen oftentimes after I'd eat, but never at night when I slept. Changed to nexium and even doubled the dose but the burning went on. Lasted about 6 months. Stopped the nexium, went "clean" for 2 weeks, now on protonix for a week. The burning seems to be going away. Has anyone experienced such a thing?
