Hi I was diagnosed with Vertigo 5 weeks ago, went on several different kind of medications (some which gave me horific side effects) I finally settled for cin****ne which I have been taking for 3 weeks- 6 tabs a day.

I am getting better (as have also visited a homopathic Dr) these work but take time.

I just wanted to know other peoples experience of Vertigo? will it ever go? do I have to live with it as far as it has progressed.

I am not the most patient person but I have been off work the whole time and seem to be in a vicious circle- worrying about work, getting up- I ventured in on Monday for a couple of hours but felt worse.

I have a great job and they are very understanding say I can go back part time until I feel better but I am still uncertain as what to do for the best as I dont want to make it worse.

I am trying to keep active but its a struggle- no energy and wary in shops and walking- it has really knocked my confidence.

I think the diziness has stopped but my balance is still effeceted.

I also find the heatwave we are having is not helping as although my drugs are drowsy I am just not sleeping.

Have also tried some exercise on the internet which Ive tried (not sure if they work or not but will try anything)

The vertigo came with no warning- one minute fine next hit for 6- was in bed for 2 weeks and am now feeling able to do certain things but still not myself.

Drs have sent me for MRI etc but most people say these show nothing just confirm what you know.

Will this pass? How long do these tablets take to make it go forever!

Any advice, words of wisdon greatly appreciated

Many thanks :blob_fire

I have benign positional vertigo - it started many, many years ago. It comes and goes. Sometimes I won't have any episodes for a year or two, and then bam, out of nowhere, I'm dizzy and miserable. I've had a hearing test and a balance test (I forgot the name). My doctor never sent me for an MRI. There is a manouver my ENT does called the Eply Manouver that usually works. Something about the crystals in the ears. He told me to just take anti-nausea medication if I need it. Nothing else works, and he's right. I know it's annoying and uncomfortable, but it will pass. I just take one day at a time, and try not to think about whether or not I'm going to get an "attack". I just wish they were doing some research on this. No one has come out with a med that really helps.
