What kind of sippy cup is best to introduce my babies to as there first one? I went to the store toady and swa some with handles, some without, some with hard spouts some with soft. So I was just wondering which one would be the best one to use, theeasiest for them to hold etc. They are 6 months old by the way. Thank you.

Hello my DD is 6 months too on the 30th... and I was told to get Playtex or the Gerber ones with the soft tip (I think it says intro on the packaging) but not sure.... It should state that its the "first" sippy cup stage or so....

I am going to get one soon for her - she is trying to drink from my cup now - just tonight she really started to try! and actually drank some water from my cup! funny! So now I need to keep all my hot drinks far far away from her!

I went through about 10 kinds of sippy cups! The one that worked best was the walmart brand that had a clear top, but it leaked all over, so I quit on it! The cheap take and toss ones work really well and the Nuby ones, without handles are the ones we use. It took about three months to find one that worked!

I also think the Nuby ones are the best to start out at. They are soft and won't hurt their little teeth when they're learning how to use them.

Nuby is the best!

I have some Nuby's and they seem to like them fairly well. They seem to be pretty easy to drink out of, they seem to be getting the hang of it (sort of). Thanks for the reply.

After much experimentation, my dd learned to use a sippy with the Gerber Sip 'n Smile. It has a long spout more similar to a bottle nipple. After about a month, she would then drink from any sippy. If your baby takes a bottle, you might also change the nipples to sippy spouts. I use Avent bottles and dd had no trouble moving from their nipples to the their sippy tops.
