View Full Version : Could this maybe be gas, or phantom GB attacks?

Hi everyone.

I have these episodes of "severe" pain in my upper right quadrant, which will last for about 45 minutes, during which I have diarrhea. Then for the next couple of weeks I have a dull ache under my right rib that goes into my back. I constantly have loose stools in the morning when I wake up, and depending on what I eat I may have to go the the bathroom right away.

I have had several tests done and my Dr. said it is IBS, and the pains I am experienceing could be associated with gas in my intestines.

Is it possible for gas to be that painful? Or, maybe could I be having phantom GB attacks? I had my GB removed about 8 years ago.
It seems like when I am under stress I also have this pain. Does your body produce gas when you are stressed?

Does anyone else experience this, or any advise?

Thanks.

Yes i have had gas pains that bad under my upper right and upper left quadrant. I'v been told I have lactose intolerant and mild acid/reflux. I also got rid of my pain after I stopped taking Zocor which I have been taken for over a year. The Primary dr didn't believe but my gastro said hes seen that before.
