Hi i'm new here and wanted to get some information has anyone took the antidepressant pexeva? My doctor put me on it 3 weeks ago for depression and panic attacks,she started me on 20mg,so far i cant tell it has done anything for me,how long does it take to see any results? i am also on a sleeping pill temazepam 15mg because i dont sleep very much,i first started on lexapro with no results then zoloft for 5 weeks with no results,now i just pray this pexeva works,any responds will be appreciated.

I did a quick search and pexeva is also known as paxil. I was on Paxil for a while but it led to an increase in cutting, did nothing for the depression and I was paranoid mind you this is not typical just how I responded to it. The biggest thing with Paxil is it is a pain in the butt to get off, lots of tapering here but again that differs from person to person. Welcome to the boards\

Is pexeva generic paxil?

Yes. Dittoing what trg said about the tapering off possibly being challenging, but I do know people who swear by it. If you're depressed, anxious, ocd, ptsd and/or some other things, it can be a good med.

How's it working for you so far?

I have been on it a little over 3 weeks and i cant really tell a difference in myself,i still have panic attacks and feel depressed and i also cant sleep,i take a sleeping pill also,but as you see it's 11:40pm and i took the pill before 9pm and i am still up...do you know how long it will take before the pexeva kicks in and stars to work? Some people have said 4-8 weeks to get the full effect of the medicine.

I believe 20 mg. is just a starting dose. Did it seem to help even a little at first and then seem to not help quite so much at all?

I can't tell it has done much of anything besides give me headaches for the first week,and i feel like i am dragging most days with no energy,i was thinking about asking my doctor to keep me on this for awhile and maybe try a small dose of ativan for the panic attacks..i have alot of stress i have a son with autism and adhd and he's on medication and has been for 7 years i was dealing with it ok but the past few months it's taken its toll on me,he's getting older and harder to deal with.thank you for responding back so fast.
