I have severe pain under my right ribs. It hurts to breathe, to bend to yawn, what is it?
I have had an ultra sound, xrays, blood, and the only thing they can tell me is I have an infection but all looks normal.
Where can I go from here. I am not imagining this pain.
I have had this since last Friday, went to the er Sunday and they couldn't find anything.
I think at this point i know more than the Drs. about my body and pain but how do I get my point across?

You just have to keep at it. A HIDA scan could be a next possible step.

Just keep at it... pain is there for a reason.

you mentioned that you have an infection. What sort of infection? Was your WBC high or was it seen on the ultrasound? Did you take a course of antibiotics? If so, I assume the infection is gone and that you are still having pain.

Yes, if the pain is in the URQ area. A HIDA may be the next step. You will probably have to suggest it to your doctor. Also, request a HIDA w/ the CCK injection. I think that is a more complete test. Wish I had requested the CCK injection but I was too late in suggestion it after I discovered what the injection was on this board.

Good luck!
