Can nausea come from a problem with the intestines?? I had every test done excpet for a colonscopy, only showing gastroparesis, but somehow I believe it's my intestines doing the damage. If you know of any problems with the intestines that could just cause nausea, please let me know. Thanks.

I am going through the same thing. I have had every test except for the colonoscopy. I have been avoiding the colonoscopy because it's so invasive and I am not so sure it's needed. I suffer frequent nausea and I have an URQ discomfort. I asked my current gi if my large intestine could be causing the nausea and pain this high up and he said that he has not seen a case like it. I believe my current gi is one who makes a diagnosis and sticks with. He isn't doing any more tests so I have a call in to my gp to request to be referred to another gi.
I am at the point now of going ahead and have the colonoscopy but I will wait first to see what a new gi says. I'm also still not 100% convinced that it's not my gallblaader.
What are your symptoms? Nausea only?

Hi actudan. Yeah, my only symptom is nausea. I have acid acid reflux since I was 10, and over the summer I developed the nausea. After a milloin blood tests, and many others, they told me I had gastroparesis. But I really don't know. I kind of think I had a bad flare up of GERD, cause I know that can cause nausea too. I'm not sure what to believe, but I Just want to be back to my old self again. I thought it was my intestines, but I'm not sure if there is a disease out there in teh intestines that can cause nausea. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal.....but the nausea I have ruins my daily life. From losing friends to almost losing my job, not being able to enjoy time with my son, it's terrible. I got motillium from Canada, I was thinking about trying it too see if it helps. I'm only 24, I shouldn't be this way at this age.
How long have you been sick actudan?? Has anytihng helped you out?? Also...what have the doctors diagnosed you with??

Hey, nausea can be very debilitating. My problems started in May of this year. My original diagnosis was gastritis, duodenitis and an duodenal ulcer caused by NSAIDs. I did okay for about a month while on Prevacid except I had some minor URQ discomfort. About 4 days after finishing the prevacid, I started having intense upper abdominal pain again. Couldn't eat or sleep. I went to another doctor and another endoscope was performed. I was diagnosed then with mild gastritis and no ulcer. In fact this doctor looked at my first photos and said that he wouldn't call what I had an ulcer then.
Anyway, he kept me on prevacid and also put me on librax. The upper stomach pain would never go away. The doctor would also say I had mild IBS but I really don't have the symptoms of someone having IBS. Well around mid-July, the nausea started. For about month, the nausea was horrible. I was drinking emitrol daily which helped slightly. I couldn't do anything with the nausea. I didn't play with my daughter, I declined all imvitations from friends to do anything, I was struggling at work,... The doctors would shrug me off on the nausea and I never did get an answer for what may be causing it.
I finally went to see a nutritionist, who got me off the prevacid and started me on some digestive enzymes, vitmains, essential fatty acids, ... The extreme nausea slowly went away but never all the way. My doctor also put me on limbitrol which may have helped too.
For about the last two months, I have nausea every now and then ( at least every other day but not as extreme as it had been) and I still always have the URQ discomfort. I am beginning to seek out new doctors because I can't fully except my current diagnosis (digestive spasms and IBS). Some days are better than others but no day is ever 100% normal. I just turned 31 and I am in relatively good shape. I used to jog 6 miles every other day and go to the gym on the days I don't jog. Now I am lucky to jog 3 miles once a week. Well good luck to finding an answer to your nausea problem.
