Hi all,
I ran into my GI at the hospital. I was there for something else but saw him. I told him that last night that I was having alot of blood everytime I wipe myself and some today too in the toliet as well. My GI told me that he will look at my colonoscopy report from last year. What did he mean by this? why does he want to look at it from last year?

Sounds like he's afraid he missed something.

With your symptoms, another test seems to be in order.

Alot of times a colonoscopy shows hemorrhoids that are not giving you problems then but he notes them in the report. Most people have then because of not getting the right amount of fiber in their diet.
Then they may later act up-- and bleed.

I had a colon resection 4 years ago and during the recovery -- I bled some and ask the doctor(surgeon) about it-- OH, he said that probably your hemorrhoids-- I asked why he did not do something about them while he was operating-- He said -- that was not my problem at the time -- it was chronic diverticular bleeding-- he removed 2 1/2 feet of my colon but left my 8" rectum alone -- hemorrhoid and all.

I take psyllium water soluble fiber supplement twice daily (Equate Brand fom Wal Mart) ---and have had no more problems with the hemorrhoids since then.
