For about 2 months now I've been dealing with a pain that feels like a sore, knawing sensation located on the left side of the center of my stomach. It radiates up under my left rib cage, breastbone and up to my left shoulder/arm area. It's been on again off again but now is more persistent. It's worse after eating, too. I've had a CT scan, an ultrasound, and a small bowel barium X-ray, which were all normal. Could this be pancreas problems, or an ulcer? Wouldn't they have shown up in the tests I mentioned? I have no idea why I have this annoying pain, but am seeing my doctor tomorrow and would like to know what to ask & inquire about so would like to some ideas on what this could be. Thanks.

yes , my gall bladder is in, and I tested negative a couple weeks ago for Hpylori, too. I have so many stomach cramps and actually feel achey and raw in my bowels (both sides of my belly button.) I have Celiac Disease, but it's supposed to get better on the special diet I'm on, and it's not. This knawing pain is crazy...it just radiates all the way into the front of my shoulder. I asked the doctor if he got a good look at the pancreas during the Ct Scan I had, and he said yes they did and it was normal size and shape. So I'm at a loss.

I'm taking 2 meds right now: Aciphex once per day, and Bentyl three times per day. This is for possible IBS. I never felt typical reflux symptoms, but I have Celiac Disease and during my endoscopy for that my doctor saw the chronic gastritis all the way down, into the small bowel. This sore knawing pain is on my upper left side, a little off center, and makes me think it's the pancreas, but I've had a CT Scan w/injection and everything looked fine, so it's a mystery.

Gillian30 have you had any tests done for your gall bladder? You said you were tested for h.pylori was it a blood test. The reason im asking is that i was tested for h.pylori with a blood test.It came back negative, they did an endoscopy and biopsy and found i had it.So a blood test is not always accurate.Have you found out anything about the pain your having,on your left side? You ever get a diagnoses on that yet?

Oh, and occasionally I feel hot like I do have a fever, but when I take my temp it's always normal...at most might be 99.

[response to a deleted message] The knawing pain I described on this post eventually went away, but I have a tremendous amount of pain every day in my small intestine area. My small bowel just cramps and aches all the time, and it's not related to my bowel movements at all. It's always acting up. I've been tested for 2 bacterial infections so far: H. Pylori and C. Difficile. Both were blood tests, both were negative. Now I'm worried it was a false negative since one poster said having it tested by biopsy is better. The next test up for me is a colonoscopy, if I can just get enough courage to schedule it. I wonder if they would do another biopsy on me at the same time.
