One morning in early June i woke up with severe pain in my upper stomach, and i continued to have an upset stomach for a few days. I felt better, but a few weeks later i felt even worse, complete with diaherrea and nausea. My stomach has felt upset since then, on and off, some of it is effected by what i eat, but sometimes it is just random. I went to the doctor 1 month ago and he put me on Zantac 150, twice a day. This seems to help sometimes, in combination with cutting diary products, tomatoes, spicy foods, alcohol, and other heavy foods from my diet. Lately i have felt even worse, to the point where i have thrown up 2 days out of the past week. (I NEVER throw up, so this is very unusual!) I do not know what could be causing this, or what to do next, does anyone have any similar experiences?

hi..i just started experiencing pain on my upper abdominal area about 3 weeks ago. doctor dx me with GERD at first then when i went to ER gave me a difft dx of Gastritis. Do u feel any pain on ur back also ?

If the doctor put you on zantac,did he say what it was for?

He put me on Zantac for gastritis, and i went back to him on friday, and he put me on prevacid, the powdered form, does anyone know if it comes in a pill?

the pain is on the right side and to my back. went for an ultrasound fri hopefully i will find out tomorrow or tues. i am really anxious. i feel bloated nauseated gurgling sounds in my stomach. i couldnt sleep last nite. thank u for this message board.

With your pain location and other symptoms, it sounds like it could be your gallbaldder. I'm assuming that is why you are having an ultrasound. Good luck and keep us posted.

KateGalbs, yes prevacid comes in pills ,its what i take 2x a day.

Frankb can you describe the pain?Is it a gnawing,achy burning or sore like pain?Any of those?

its achy sore pain on my upper right side abdominal area. my ultrasound is negative

I also have the same problem. An achy feeling on my right side under my rib. I have also had several different tests, including and MRCP which is an MRI of the area and they didn't find anything wrong. I also have gurgling in the area, but have noticed that if I rub the area in a downward motion when I am achy it feels better, doesn't necessarily go away, but feels better. It is just a nagging ache pretty much all the time. Can any of you that are also experiencing this tell me what your diagnosis is? Thanks.

Also....had GB removed about 8 years ago, so it's not that.

Frankb do you have either ibs or gerd or both?Could also be gall bladder problems.Gerd and gall bladder problems can manifest almost the same exact symptoms.

Suzyshop1, how long did the prevacid take to start working? Also, how can you tell if something is wrong with your gallbladder? Would it show up in a blood test?

Frankb this pain im having on my right side on the breastbone is being difficult to pin down whats causing it.When i was diagnosed with h.pylori the only symptom i was havng was a gnawing achy pain on my right side just under the breast on the bone.I didnt have gastritis but i was on my way there.When they did an endoscopy and biopsy thats when they found that i had h.pylori.I also had and inflamed stomach and esophagus,all of this even tho i was on ppi's.I still have the pain and having more tests to try and find out what it is.I had a hida scan just done and a upper gi small bowel series done.The hida scan is the test they use to look for gall bladder problems.The upper gi and bowel series takes care of xrays top to bottom.I guess this doctor wanted to leave no stone unturned in trying to find out what this is.I hope to hear something soon about my results.Will keep everyone posted.Hope you get some answers soon to your problem.Take care

Sorry guys about the repeat posts but when i tryed to post today ,i kept getting a blank white screen.So i thought i wasnt getting my post thru.Then when i tryed again a couple of times later i got an post that said the system was down for an hr for maintance,hense the repeat posts.

Kate it took only the next day for me to notice a difference.I was also coming off a milder drug for gerd at the time.I had been on this other drug for 15yrs.Gall bladder problems can have similar symptoms like gerd.Sometimes they can get mixed up because there so much alike.Or sometimes ppl can have both.I have gerd but the doctor is also checking for gall bladder or bowel problems.If you want to know about the symptoms for gall bladder disease put gall bladder symptoms in any search engine and then compare them to gerd symptoms.The problem with my symptoms is that i match both symptoms for both diseases.
