thats an interesting question. I haven't heard about tylenol causing ulcers or stomach upset, but ibuprofen, watch out.
I have a bad back and was taking advil every day for months and blame that on a lot of my stomach, throat issues and irritation.

backslides5,
How long did you take Advil before you got stomach problems? I took prescription medication for 13 years before my stomach problems showed up. What's your alternative to Advil for pain management? I can't find one yet.

I also think Advil may have played a role. The only alternative I've found is tylenol, but nothing seems to work as well as Advil...

taape,
I've taken advil for years for headaches, etc, but a lot the past year for a back problem, and that I believe contributed to my stomach LPR stuff, I don't know if it CAUSED it but I'm sure it didn't help. I also had rectal bleeding which I'm sure was from the advil --since I wasn't taken anything else.
since I stopped it's been better.
As for what I take for pain management--Nothing. Just suffer through it. since i fear worse when I take advil. Acetominophen doesn't do anything for my back or headache pain, so why bother? I use a lot of ice (back) and just try to get through it. I have no other choice that I'm aware of:confused:
