Dr said DS can have scrambled egg yolks now, but not the whites. I tried my best to seperate it, but there is still always a little bit of white in the yolk! Is that ok??

Is that ok?? Sponsor Gayle0000 07-29-2006, 03:55 PM I asked my Ped why the yolks and no whites and he said the whites are potential allergens, so they recommend delaying whites. If baby has some whites, just watch for allergies or stomach discomfort. If baby doesn't react to the whites, then they're okay. I got the okay for yolks (I did hard-boiled mostly and sometimes scrambled) at 6 months. By 7 months I was adding half the whites in scrambled eggs just to try it and DD was fine. Within a week after first trying whites, I just went for all the whites. Haven't had any allergies or other issues. I told the Ped at the 9 month visit she'd been eating the whites for a while & he said fine...no need to keep restricting the whites if she wasn't reacting to them. |
