Help me! My son is so picky when it comes to table foods. Ever since he started on table foods it's been so frustrating. He will eat watermelon, peas, crackers, melon,FRENCH FRYS (I know he should not be eating them, but sometimes its the only thing he will eat and he has to eat something) and bananas. NOTHING ELSE. He used to eat cheerios and cheese sandwiches, but not even that anymore. He is 14 1/2 months old and the DR said he is healthy, and to keep trying different things on him, but I do and he won't eat it and just screams when i try. I just want to pull my hair out most of the time. lol He is 26 1/2 pounds and 33 inches tall. Why is he so picky???? Any ideas for me? Thanks!!

All kids go through a picky phase. It's normal. Like your doctor said, try different things. And also try going back to former favorites if he hasn't had them in a while.
Maybe give something new along with something he likes, instead of all just one new thing.

My DS - 12 months - is the exact same way. I feel like a terrible mother because all he'll eat is chicken nuggets, hotdogs and waffles. It does get to be frustrating. I make him at least 6 different things every meal and still he only eats the few favorites - and sometimes not even those.

i have a 4 year old who is just starting to eat. for 3 years it was a fight. he never was a great eater, but it got dramatically worse at 2, he looked sickly and unhealthy. it was a fight for every bite. for awhile it was about 10 cherrios for breakfast, one half of a chicken nugget for lunch, and 15 frittos for dinner. and i would try everything. he eventually got anemic. and for about a year i gave him vitamins with iron, which are so gross, they only come in liquid form. but i just kept trying and trying and trying and trying and one day he just decided he would eat. and has been doing great for about 8 months. he still doesn't eat the healthiest, but we are still working on that. the other day we went to wendys and he ate 8 chicken nuggets, so we have come along way for 1/2 a nugget just 18 months ago. so keep trying, he will out grow it, even though it doesn't seem like it when you are in the middle of it, he will. for now just keep a watch on his iron level.
good luck.

My 13 month old son is going through the exact same thing! he used to eat anything I gave him. I think his biggest problem is he doesnt like the texture of some foods so I have found that if I mash up or grind the foods I eat he seems to want to eat more. Maybe you could try doing that and see if you have any luck.
