Hello~ A quick review of health history- I am currently 24 and have had endometriosis since I was 15. My husband and I were lucky enough to have a beautiful son last year, he is now one. Last November I started having diahherea and was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in Feb. On July 3rd I was admitted to the hospital for a week because of the symtpoms of Crohn's. While I was there my GI doctor said he did a Cortisol test and that I had Addison's disease. I have been to 2 endocrinologist and the first one was crazy and I couldn't understand a thing he said and the second doctor ran several blood test and just called me today to say he thinks I'm fine. I sure don't feel fine. My husband has had to take off several days of work because I feel so horrible sometimes. I've fainted, thrown up, dizzy speels, I'm exhausted all the time, I still have had no period and my son is 14 months old, sometimes I feel like I can't think, I have been getting the worst headaches, my chest hurts, my shoulders hurt... I swear, I'm not crazy, my body really does feel like this. I have the results from the blood test and several of them seem borderline low.... what does this mean? Is it Addison's? I am currently taking Prednisone and I still have not felt better. :dizzy:
Lab work:
Cortisol am 7.7 ug/dL @ 10am (When I was in the hospital it was 6.1 at 6am)
Thyroid PNL Free T4 0.7 ng/dL @ 10am

Estradiol 46 pg/mL @10am

Follicle Stim. Hormone 5.3 mIU/mL @10am
Luteinizing Hormone 4 mIU/mL @10am
Potassium 3.5 mmol/L @10am
Prolactin 4.0 ng/mL @10am
SED Rate (westergren) 1 mm/hr @10am
Sodium 139 mmol/L @10am
Insulin Like Growth Hormone 227 ng/mL @10am
Adrenocorticotropic Hormone 6 pg/mL @ 12:45pm
Thank you for any advice or suggestions.

Did you have the ACTH stimulation test to check for addisons? How much prednisone are you taking?

There seems to be connection for some women & addisons after having a baby. I suppose there is a big stress on the adrenals at that time.

Wanda~
I believe the endocrinologist was running these tests to check for signs of Addison's. I am having so many ups and downs. Like today, I woke up feeling SO tired. I went outside for a little while with my son and started having a hot flash. I went to go inside and I threw up on the porch as I was walking inside! It was down hill from there! All day I felt like I couldn't see straight, tired beyond belief, a horrible headache..... :dizzy: I have been to two endocrinologist and neither have really been able to help. I found an endocrinologist in Santa Rosa, Ca, I might try to make an appointment with him. He's 3 hours away and does not take insurance, but he's e-mailed me a few times and seems to know what he's talking about, more than the two other doctors.

So you have had the ACTH stim test??? Does the new endo's name start with F? You can't name him here so just a yes or no.

Try drinking bouillon 3 times a day. The salty cubes disolved in hot water. The salt may help you. Also eat some protein with each meal. Are you drinking lots of water to stay hydrated. Salt & water may help keep you going till you see another endo.

You day sounds really "lousy". Sure hope you can get some help fast.
