I will be having the rotational chair test in a couple of months, along with the VEMP test. What is the rotational chair test like? Does it make you dizzy? Do they spin you around? I'm a little nervous about this. Thanks for any info!

Yes they spin you around to the right ,then to the left, then to the tight ,then to the left. and so on. It made me aliitle dizzy at first. We had to stop 2 times I thought I would get sick. but, i did'nt and managed to finish the test. The vemp test they put some eloctrodes around your face and on your chest. You are lying down. Then they have you raise your head and turn on the machine. You hear clicking noise but it does not hurt.
Hope this helps.

Could you tell me what the rotational chair test and the VEMP test are used for ? I'm on day 18 after my 3rd Vertigo (BPPV) and feeling a little better but still wondering if there's more to find out. I had an MRI, all O.K. I asked the neurologist what next and all he said was "call me if it flairs up again" ! ! !
He could care less.
I hope you all feel better very soon... Some encouragement, My 1st and 2nd bouts of vertigo were 4 years apart and I was back on my feet in a week or two feeling good.
Jack
