For the last 6 months, i have been having extreme inner ear pressure. It does not hurt, nor am i dizzy, just pressure with very amplified sound. My doctor has put me thru a series of antibiotics, steroids, allergy pills, and reflux medication with no help. I went this week to an ENT who put the tubes in my ears. Now i am having very muffled sound out of the left side, and the right STILL sounds amplified! I am at a loss here, should i request a CT or MRI? my doctors were puzzled but dont seem to be trying to do anything about it! IM GOING OUTTA MY MIND HERE!!! any advice would be welcomed!

Hi Spell

Tubes in the ear---indicates a Middle Ear Problem---I thought---did the ENT say it was an Inner Ear Injury---or don't they know

he told me he was putting them in as a "grasping at straws" thing! I havent had any injury. This started in January randomly and ive been on tons of antibiotics and steroids ever since with no relief so far. Im not too impressed by this Dr. Ive been researching this alot on the web and my symptoms sound alot like Autophony and patulous Eustachian tube. I can barely hear out of my left ear right now and the amplification of my voice is terrible. To make matters worse, both the ENT and my family physician are on vacation this week! ironic eh? I was going to go to the ER but what can they do? I called the ENT on call, and he prescribed me ear drops which arent doing a thing. Im still at a loss here!?
