hey guys. if any of you know the place, i was shopping at trader joe's earlier with my mom today and she was looking at some of the protein powders that they sold and it got us pretty curious. she wanted me to come on here and ask what you can mix that in, for example like a fruit smoothie. or just any ideas on how some of you guys would fix it up.

also i eat pretty healthy but i'm just not to aware of all i guess the detailed things in what a person should be eating. 3 weeks ago i was diagnosed with mono so i havn't been able to exercise which is killing me cause i miss it. with my appetite coming back i'v just been watching what im eating, could i benefit from these protein shakes to? if it helps im 5'2 and 127 lbs

I mix it in a blender. I'll add a couple of cubes of ice, milk (or water if you'd like), a banana and a little bit of peanut butter. You can also add other fruits, yogurt, tofu, etc.

thanks for the replies! I was curious, do these protein drinks help you loose weight also? or just help you bulk up on muscles. I'm just looking to loose about 10 lbs and get toned...I'm getting back into my cardio again and I don't want to have bulky muscles, just nice and toned.

To achieve the toned look, you need developed muscles. For a calorie saver like yourself, skim milk or water would be the better choice for your protein drink. Incorporate calisthenics, resistance bands or a light weight lifting regimen into your cardio program and you'll be a calorie burning machine. Remember that muscle burns fat, and unlike the cardio, it continues to burn the fat and calories off all day.

There are other great sources of protein --- don't limit yourself to just protein drinks.
