I'd googled for an anti-inflammatory skin cream,, and found several articles on a new cream being used for rashes, including Lupus Butterfly.

It's called "Protopic" (tacrolimum). I phoned my pharmacy, and they carry it, and said some insurance companies cover it.

Anyone heard anything about it?

Thanks.................carole

Carole,
My derm prescribed protopic for me about 4 months ago. I was applying it 2x/day. It did seem to help at first but as time went on it seemed to show no improvement. My derm has now switched me to 1x/day protopic and 1x/day locoid lipocream which has really seemed to make a world of a difference for me and its only been about 2 weeks. The protopic was a little on the expensive side too so you might want to see if your dr. can give you samples before you buy it yourself to see if it helps.
