hi;
this post is a few weeks away from your post; you may have either heard good news already, or given up getting an answer here. Last night I just saw on another site that it is common practice to be denied once or twice. Keep trying, sounds like the system is set up to make it difficult; just keep trying; it might be worth it in the long run. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

It is true that, as a rule, they will deny you two to three times...I guess to weed out those who aren't desperate. Just be patient, jump through the hoops. After three denials, I employed an attorney....it made everything go alot smoother. They will take a percentage of your award...but SS will pay you retroactively from the time you first applied. Hang in there....franjo
When I appied for benifits 2yrs. ago, I didn't rely on the information that SSI gathered. I got copies of all the tests, dr. reports, and anything that be helpful to speed up the process. Knowing that the Govt. was slow, I call the evaluation board every 2 weeks to get an update. I suppose that they got annoyed with my persistance that I was approved within 3mo.
