Outlaw1979 07-31-2006, 06:48 PM Anyone had even damage before?? dluphil 08-02-2006, 03:15 PM I had egd for many years and it developed into Barret's Esophagus. About three years ago I had an esophogeal-gastrectomy. (Removal of most of esophagus and a portion of my stomach.) If there is any way to avoid such surgery, I strongly recommend it. I nearly died of infection which required emergency surgery. Then there is the pain and extended recovery period. Pure hell. Frankly, if I had to do it over again, I would just risk it. I don't know if this helps any or not, but do get the egd's as recommeded and get second opinions for any procedure approaching surgery. Good luck. Outlaw1979 08-02-2006, 06:19 PM Well I figured esphoagitis was the same as having one 5mm erosion..There going to rescope me in 6 months, which is now 3 months..Im just worried because my first scope showed no damage than this one did,and I dont want it to be Barrett's |
