Following my endoscopy which was clear I went back to the GP for results of biopsy which was also clear.

My doctor now feels it isnt a reflux acid problem as such but described it as more a bodily functional problem and diagnosed Domperidone which it says is to help move the food faster through the oesophagus, stomach and intestines so it does not stay long in the same place or flow backwards. He said if this is the case I dont need to worry about what im eating other then not having too many fatty foods.

I just dont know if he is barking up the wrong tree or anything but will take these pills as at the moment Im not taking anything except nat phos 10 tissue salts.

Anyone care to share an opinion on this? thanks

It's good to hear that your biopsy is clear. How could the doctor tell it was a bodily function problem? Did he say? Just wondering. I hope the medication helps you.

just something he has diagnosed himself, which is why I posted on here as I am not convinced. However there is a point that I dont go to the toilet very regular at all and I've always been convinced that I've had digestive problems. I think maybe i'll get some probotic drinks too.

Interesting. I'm not going to rule it out, why can't it be a possibility? Am curious if this same doctor has ever seen a patient before who has LPR? Just exploring the possibility that he is already familiar with motility problems, and that if you have LPR, the LPR is new to him?

Without sounding glib, I am extremely "regular" if you know what I mean. But I encourage it and help it along. Whenever I have my favorite breakfast, I can assure regularity shortly thereafter. I'll have 1/2 a cup of Kellogg's All-Bran Cereal (13 grams of fiber per serving) mixed with 1/2 a cup of another slightly less fibrous but still healthy cereal (like Health Valley's Oat Bran Flakes) topped off with about 1/2 a cup of berries (usually fresh blueberries, but sometimes raspberries, strawberries, or a mixture of them all). I usually chase this with 1 small cup of coffee (doesn't bother the reflux that bad if just 1 cup), and then within 10 minutes I'm running for the loo. All-Bran is magic. And I know you have it in the UK.

I prefer weetabix myself i have that daily. I used to have wholemeal bread but found that when I ate bread my reflux was bad so have been avoiding all types of bread now. I am not an over eater of fruit or veg and this is probably my downfall.

Sorry for sharing toilet habbis but I can go 3/4 days at a time without going and I have always thought this cant be healthy for the insides can it?

I guess I will go along with the doc's theory for now and hope that its an answer.
