I've been trying to stay busy. Yesterday would've been my surgery date (sigh) I've been doing a lot of sighing lately! But, the good news is that I have a new surgery date: July 15th. I'd hoped for an earlier date, but it'll get here soon enough, I'm sure.

im comin apart b/c my pain is@an all time high& i got a not so nice call from my lawyer thur afternoon. theyre offering 3000 to make this go away& the way hes talkin, after he gets his cut, the drs are gettin the rest. he also thinks they will readily blame the pain on the cp. my brother freaked when he heard that. hes like thats it, im ending this game that he's playin(which hes right) hes supposed to call me back in a few days. ooooooooooh did i mention i apparently dont meet the legal threshold of pain!????? im like im dyin here whatya talkin about!? what a mess, i swear. this rain isnt helping my mood either, lol.

Everything is a 'racket' these days. From the insurance companies to the attorneys....everybody chases that dollar. I'm just so glad that you have a brother who is fed up enough to fight for you. Kiss him right on the mouth for me!

I've never understood how they can qualify pain anyway. Everyone is different. I read recently that everyone's pain THRESHOLD is the same, where the difference lies is in their pain TOLERANCE. Say a person has been in chronic pain for years....a 7/8 level of pain, then suddenly their pain level goes down to a 4/5 level. That person is going to feel like tackling the world, and feel as if a portion of their life has been returned to them. But take someone else, who has never had to deal with chronic pain, put them into a 4/5 pain level...then they would be incapacitated, or nearly so. It's all so relative. How can they measure something like that, and then, what measuring stick do they use? Compared to who else? A pain free person? Or one with continuous chronic pain? How easy for them to sit back in their leather upholstered chairs and decide how much pain you're in, as they ready their golf clubs for a day at the course! Pretty arrogant, if you ask me.

And your CP shouldn't play into it at all!! Maybe some of your symptoms ARE exacerbated by the CP....well, people who slam their vehicles into other vehicles take the chance of making someone's chronic condition worse....It's still THEIR fault!!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/mad.gif Sounds like discrimination to me. It's as if they're saying, "Well, you were disabled to begin with. This extra pain and agony will hardly be noticed by you. You should be used to it by now". lol. how is it you always know!? thats exactly what the lawyer is sayin& where they get off,i dunno. but i did some research. i still have time to refile. NYS law for PI is 3 yrs!(im on 15 mo) hes supposed 2 call me back so ill see what he has to say for himself. im not feeling better, the pain kept me up all night last night& the reason i was away cuz i spent most of yest in bed. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif i swear im cry! you are such awesome support! i love you!!!!!!

ya not gonna believe it but i fell while i was there& landed really hard on the bottom of a treadmill& the left lower back is severly bruised&swollen so i couldnt even get my massage. i actually got dizzy& couldnt breathe from the pain. god help me.

How's the pain today? I'm so sorry about your fall! It sounds like a pretty nasty one. I hope you're able to rest well.

Yes, maybe I've mentioned it before, I'm learning that there is a definite bias in the medical front against those with disabilities that I never knew existed before. Did you know that the doctor's and health ins. companies use a different 'scale' for those with permanent disabilities? This scale helps them determine "significant improvement" potential. I don't know about you, but I think that's pretty scary!

I'll be thinking and praying for your pain to lessen. Keep fighting the good fight.

How are you today? I haven't been posting as much as I'd like....my family complains about me being on the computer too much. I suppose they're right, but it's the one thing I enjoy, so I usually have to wait until everyone is in bed, which makes for late nights for me. And with a 3 yr. old, I don't have the luxury of sleeping in!!

I hope the pain has lessened for you since you last posted. Any PT since the fall?

My 1 yr. old boxer, Levi, has gone lame!! We are quite a motley pair! It seems she contracted a tick borne disease from our last camping trip. It's treatable. The vet has her on antibiotics and pain meds. What's weird is that the lameness shifts from one foot to another over the course of the day. She is in a lot of pain....groaning in her sleep....poor thing! She's a lot better today, though. Sunday, my husband would have to carry her outside to do her thing, now she's walking on her own.

Do you have any pets? I couldn't think of being without them, they are such a source of joy (and aggravation! Just like most people, I guess)

thats swet. dont worry k? i know how 3 is! lol. im alright, but im wiped. had a long day. went to pt today she just massaged me but then i shopped wh my sis& that made me winded from pain. plus my cycle is due& i found out i have thyroid disease.

My weekend was good, thanks for asking. We took Noah to a labryinth made out of hedges...they were exactly as tall as Noah, so he got a kick out of us not being able to find him.

I felt good enough to get a little housework done yesterday....thought I'd pay big time for it today....but so far, so good. I suppose one can never out-guess this thing called pain. Just when you think you've got it figured out, the triggers, cause and effect time frames, etc., then you get surprised again. But this is the kind of surprise I can deal with....so I won't complain.

Hope your pain is better today, and that your therapist continues to take the gentle route for awhile.

sounds like a really fun time... glad ya got to enjoy. my back was killin me earlier& now my legs hurt so bad i wanna cut them off now. lawyer? oh god ya not gonna beliecve it. i think i may have found someone that can make somethin happen so we will see. hes persistent, ill give em that!( purosely iggied his call cuz 3 other lawyers all told me cant help so i didnt wanna hear it a 4th) but he called back, lol. pt was ok. but the stretxching brought on pain&anxiety& somethin went wrong wh the electric stim. ouch!!! gotts see the ortho next fri&my braces arent ready so thats where im at.

This morning I woke up just knowing that a wicked little gnome had snuck into my room in the dead of the night and poured cement into my legs. No more pain than usual, but I'm walking around like a clumsy mammoth. I've been trying to lie down all day...but you know how that goes.

im sooooooo sorry you felt that way yesterday. is today better i hope? well, i had a bad night. i went food shoppin& it just wiped me out which is pathetic. thanks about the lawyer. yea he seems really receptive to the WHOLE picture if ya know what i mean& he knows what cp is. hes worked on several cases. i just hope i can get through what he wants me to do, i dunno if i can. im trying to get a hold of my old med records from the cp clinic i used to go to. that may help. but i gotta make some calls& do some research. im offf 2 pt.

Hope you had a great weekend. I've managed to muddle through it. Had a weird experience Saturday....I froze while walking up my steps. It was like I couldn't figure out how to shift my weight to make the next step. My sister had to pull me out of it. Weird.

I took Noah swimming yesterday. I didn't go because I wasn't able to shave my legs that day...too painful to bend. AHHH, vanity...you are my demon! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif But my cousin was with him in the pool...I just watched, feeling sorry for myself. He had a blast though, which helped to alleviate some of that.
