I am im so much pain that just getting up off a chair is sheer agony, My left and right hips, wrapping around to the back, and the middle of my spine are among the main pain generator locations.
I called to see if I can get in to see the PM Doc right away and was told that the computer was down. I called all day and was told the samed thing.
I need a new la med.
If I can't get in to see him, I will have to go to ER.

Our area just institued a 150 charge for visiting the er upfront. Referals back t omain clinics (80.) which can have just as long of waits
Got a call into my doc soonest i could get was a week from now. I know how frustrating that can get espeicaly if it is a huge issue.

so since there computers are down you can't see the DR? That is not cool at all. Its not your problem there down and you have to suffer because of it????? Push a little harder and I bet you get in. If you go to the ER they can't prescribe you pain meds as you will beak your contract and could possibly be terminated. Just DEMAND an apt and see what happens.

Alan-
I have no idea why a computer being down would keep them from telling you to come to their office for a visit? I know they have schedules to keep up with, but seriously, when someone is hurting as bad as you are, they should either squeeze you in or tell you it's ok to go to the ER! If they need for you to go to the ER, they should be willing to call the ER and let them know what to do to treat you.
I am so, so sorry you are hurting so bad. I had the same urgent pain need over the weekend, and because of advice from people here, I decided to go to urgent care and was treated.
Please do not sit around for another minute hurting this way....it's not right.
Let us know what you decide to do. I hope you are able to get help ASAP.

Hey allen, I swiped the kadian conversion book from my PM docs,
I won't scan and cut and paste it because of copy right laws but I will type in what duragesic to kadian actually is. As far as computers being down, if they can't make an apt, anyone can show up andd say I have an apt to day at 2pm , without anyway to confrim, anyone that wants to be seen urgently can due the same, so without the ability to shedule, it does make it tough. Sorry I hate to play the devils advocate, but here is the kadian conversion, your presently on 100 UGH duragesic corect?
100ugh durGESIC, EQUIANALGESIC MORPHINE DOSE RAnGE 315-404
SUGESTED DAILY STARTING DOSE 200--240mgs
THEY ARE USING THEIR STANDARD START AT HALF OF THE CONVERSION AND TITRATE UPWARDS AS NEEDED.
Copyright 2004 alpha pharmabranded divisions inc catalog KAD-DOS-03 june 2004.
The docs conversion from one med to another are just so far off, and you have been dealing with for so long, there must be someone else in a large delveloped area in TX. Call medtronics, get a list of implant certified docs and go from there. Just because they are certified, they won't neccessarilly push the pump if they think they can manage your pai with an oral dose. But the fact they do pump si a big plus, you likely have an anesthesiologist that's done a surgery residency that knows more about these meds than any other specialty.
I am sorry to hear how bad things have gotten, do you have surgery scheduled again? Or am I confused with someone else.
take care, dave
