View Full Version : CoQ10 for MAV?

Hello,

I haven't posted here in awhile, and was never that active to begin with, but I have been a long-time lurker. :) I've been of the belief that my undiagnosed condition has been, and is, caused by MAV.

Hello to Hbep, if you remember me at all. You had been of tremendous help, and I still think of you. A mention about CoQ10 in a different thread caught my eye, as I had been considering taking it for maintaining general health; if there's a chance it'll help with "migraine," it sounds like an excellent added bonus, as I'm still trying to kick the last of these head/dizziness problems.

So, my question is: what is the recommended dosage of CoQ10 for aiding migraine?

Any input is appreciated!

Hi there,

Yes, I remember you very well. Sorry you're still suffering. I don't pop in as much these days, but I do periodically check in from time to time.

I'm afraid I don't know, or I don't know yet. After you see a specialist here, they send a letter on to your GP which reiterates the advice they gave at the consultation and in the case of over the counter medication, recommends dosages. I forgot to ask which dosage of COQ10 whilst I was there - and I don't know, as it isn't an over the counter med, whether he'll say in the letter how much. My guess is probably. The letter sending process is slow, I saw him 2 wks ago, but if he does specify I'll post here.

How are you doing these days? Did you ever go along to a neurotologist or neurologist?

best,

Yes, any info as you receive it would be great. Thanks so much!

I've been doing fairly well for the last several months, say at about 90-95% in general, but I still get a bad spell here and there. Sometimes a bad spell may last a few minutes, sometimes hours. And I may experience a fleeting "weirdness" randomly throughout the day. But all in all, much better than the last time I posted here. Anyway, because I've been doing relatively well, I haven't been lurking as actively on these boards either.

I never did follow up with a specialist and/or migraine meds. Didn't want to waste any more of my time with fruitless appointments, and as for meds, I didn't feel as desperate as time wore on.

I've been feeling particularly blah the last week or so, but I think it's related to my monthly cycle which is about due. There has been an increasingly noticeable correlation - especially in the last year or so - between my cycle and head symptom intensity, which supports my continuing theory of MAV, along with other patterns (sleep, weather, etc.). But, I had been pursuing a "natural" route for a cure, and obviously, still am!

Thanks for the help. I look forward to hearing from you soon, and continue to read up on these posts and updates. Take care!
