i have been off balance for months and sometimes i get achy legs and arms but lately i hav had a weak hand and tingling in my arms and legs!

i am so scared, how do people live with MS?? if it was this i am frightened i wont be able to live a normal life and i will be ill all the time!

does it get better (i dont mean cured as i know that wont happen) do drugs help?

my doc says i have to wait until someone has looked at my ears (as that was what they thought was the inital prob before all this started) before they send me for testing!
i cant stand not knowing!!! im so depresssed

The process of undestanding MS can be frustrating. However, you can definitely live a normal life, just with a few changes. I have been on Betaseron for a little over a year and it has been wonderful! I am not plugging my med, but any of the meds (Betaseron, Avonex, Rebif, etc.) have been very successful. You need to stay as positive as possible, stress does not help. I highly recommend www.nationalmssociety.org to answer questions. My MS Specialist said from the day I was diagnosed "we need to get you on one of the meds" and he was right.
Take Care,

Tall Girl, I am just going to duplicate what Holly said. You make some adjustments in your life but you go on. I know I am real wobbly outside at night so I avoid getting in that situation. I know I tire easily so I cut back on my plans. Heat is a pain so I stay in more in the summer.
I, too, have been very lucky with my meds and feel quite well. The diagnosis wasn't the worst thing, it let me know I wasn't losing it! And now, I am getting it all back together.
All the best to you.

I was diagnosed with Meniere's disease at first so I know where you're going with the ears....

Hi- I ave had balance problems constantly for 10 months now and off and on before for 12+ years.......have you had any other testing done? I have had MRI- showed white matter lesions- non specific- in the frontal and parietal lobes of the brain. have been to UCLA had Evoked potential done there along with spinal mri and TONS of blood- everything negative for ms an largest lesion measuring 4mm........still feel like crap- feel like i really have no answers- they say they think migraine although i do not get typical painful migraines- (have had 5 in lifetime) but get the sensation in my head that is horrible and very off balance. when do you go for testing?

tallgrl-

I'm afraid any thing I say will be a duplication of what others have said. We all live with MS because we have no other choice. The only thing that will make it better is exercise, attitude, and support. My balance has been really bad for years. Adjustments must be made. I'm sorry but I can offer little other advice. I know you are depressed. Me too. Please continue to post and we will all continue to reply.
