Hi,

I read a post of yours that said your were taking propranolol for MAV. I've recently been diagnosed with that and was prescribed procardia which I had a reaction to. Now I've been prescribed propranolol. I wondered if you could tell me if you have had any side effects, dosage and if it works well for you.

Any input you could give me would be very helpful. Thanks!

Hello,

I always have a big side effect reaction to a little amount of meds, so am currently sticking with a very low dose even though it doesn't kick all my symptoms all the time. I take 10mg in the morning and 10mg in the evening. The SE's I have experienced are some lethary, being more breathless after exertion and very vivid dreams - although the last one only now happens when stressed, initally it happened a lot. It's the drug I have best tolerated - I have tried others and had to come off all of them due to side effects. I know some people who haven't tolerated it well, but it has a reputation for being one of the more easily tolerated drugs.

I would take any of those SE's over the symptoms I was living with. I'd give it a go, start low and titrate up, that way you can see how you get on with it before taking mega doses.

best,
