Just wondering if anyone had ablation, and still have problems? My husband has AVNRT and has ablation Apr 05. Still having probs, started up about 1 1/2mos after procedure. He does have an appt. this month, but I'm worried. He has had many today. He says when he has them it makes him cough, and sometimes lightheaded. I listen to his heart ( I am a nurse) and I hear his heart pause for about 5 seconds and he is able to say I had one. I also hear an irregular beat. Any one else have this or any information on it? Thank You.

It is very possible that when your husband had his ablation, the dr. was able to terminate the rhythm and unable to induce it again. But as time goes on, it is possible for the rhythm to come back if the md for some reason was unable to burn a complete line and do away with the "slow" pathway of AVNRT. Sometimes it may take more than one ablation. You say the hr sound irregular. Does he have a hx of afib? I know this is short and not as complete as it could be, but I hope it helps!

Hello, thank you for your reply. We actually had an appt. a few days ago. He has a monitor for 30 days, and he'll be getting an echocardiogram next week. The Dr. feels he may not have got it all during the ablation, since his s/s are the samr. So hopefully thats it and if he has to get another ablation, I hope it goes well. Last year they did'nt even have to try and get the heart in the abnormal arrythmia, as soon as they got in, it started! But again thank you kindly for your reply.
