At my job I work as a waitress and it is SO hard! I have to wait on people, constantly go and go and clean up at the end of the day etc..yesterday I nearly passed out because it was so hot outside and then they fixed the AC and that made it FARR too cold I got goosebumps and AGAIN nearly passed out (our body temps are already so low w.o enough food) I am gonna pass out on a daily basis...plus I can never concentrate on what my boss is yelling at me to do...it is so hard

WOW i feel for you, that does sound tough. I use to work at Tim Horton's (a coffee shop in Canada in case you didn't know....i don't know if you're canadian and i think Tim's is only in canada...but anywho whatever that doesn't matter lol) :D My point is that when i worked there i was up and about all day and this was many years ago when i wasn't nearly as sick as i am now and it was still really tough so i can imagine what your job must be like. Have you given any thought to maybe finding a new job...like i dunno a call centre job ... just an idea ;) ...thats what i do and its much easier on me sitting infront of a computer all day able to relax rather than running around using energy i don't have and risking passing out, etc. And OH YEAH i can relate to the cold....the building i work in is always freezing...it looks so funny cause it'll be sweating hot outside (like it was today) and here i am carrying a sweater and a spring coat into work lol, they get a little carried away with the A.C or maybe it's just me cause i'm sensitive to the cold...i dunno  Anywho hope you hang in there

hate to be the b**** on this thread, but i just want to point out that getting a new job ain't gonna fix the problem at all. i feel like that's similar to saying "Hey! you've committed to anorexia, why don't you just sleep all day so you NEVER have to eat!" obviously, not helpful to anyone at all, you know?

you have to eat. plain and simple. you can't bemoan the effects of anorexia on your lifestyle unless you're actively trying to recover. then bemoan all you want! :) i don't really know what the point of this post was, but seriously, it's pretty simple. if you starve, then yes, you will feel weak, fainty and cold at work. and if you eat? you won't freeze, you'll have energy, you'll feel happier and more confident, time will go by faster. in short hon, life will be better. just something to think about ...

For the record, this was a little offensive. If you look on this very same board, i posted a topic about me trying to recover on my own at my own pace. I never said "hey let me work around anorexia" I was venting because I had a terrible day. That was my point of this post. Maybe you can afford treatment but some people cannot. Some people have tried to recover and relapsed and have to learn or try to learn to find ways to deal with an ed on thee own because they have no other choice. And I am currently doing whatever in my power to do so. It's hard to try and recover from an illness without anyones help, its hard enough to do so with someone. Yes I am currently working on it but that doesn't give me no right in posting sinply because rather than me being recovered I am trying to be recovered.

Not to start a big argument about this, but I'm almost positive Joni didn't mean her post in the least bit offensive way.

Nobody here is saying you shouldn't post because you aren't recovered- heck nobody posting here (or the majority anyways) are still not even close to recovery! The thing is, your post is literally your complaints about "working with an ED", like the title says. And that's all it is..just your comments and complaints about it. This is fine and all- nobody is saying you cannot post complaints on here, but you're complaining about having an ED and how it's so tough- what are you looking for in responses? If what you are looking for is ways to "solve" this, the ONLY answer is recovery (which is what Joni is saying). But if youre looking for little tips and tricks to get around these problems without recovering, this isn't the place to post.

You can work and recover at your own pace- nobody is saying it needs to happen overnight. However, the only opinion regarding this post of yours is that you NEED to recover- and not try to find other ways to get around feeling tired, lifeless, hungry or cold at work.

WOW o.k i just want you guys all to know that my post was ABSOLUTELY NOT MEANT TO HELP AVOID RECOVERY AND "GET AROUND" THE E.D i was simply trying to offer some ways to endure it without adding the pressure of losing a job and adding that financial stress on top of everything else and trying to somewhat help avoid overdoing it physically and making her health problems even worse WHILE she is recovering. Absolutely of course i would love to see everyone on this board recover (including myself) but it is a long sometimes slow process and so sometimes you need to find ways to make it a little easier in the meantime....so that it doesn't all go to hell in a handbasket so to speak. I'm not angry about any of the posts or anything i'm simply trying to let you all know what my intentions were here....i really wasn't trying to encourage the contnuance of the E.D...and i'm sorry if that's how it came accross ;)

I am not angry at all about any of the posts either and maybe I mistook something. I just get offended when it comes to people thinking that I in any way am looking for tips of tricks to keep my ed thats not what I want at all. The point of my post was that I was really, just trying to see if anyone else related to that. It helps when I know someone else once went through that and can totally understand. The thing about my ed is it makes me feel really...isolated.I feel like I don't know anybody in real life with one and that sucks. I cannot discuss this with anyone in person. I want to find a message board that simply discusses ed's. Not a pro eating disorder board, not a recovery only one, just one that discusses eveything about eating problems to anyone who wants to talk about them. That way it's easier to speak your mind freely w/o people misunderstanding what your message topic is.
