Deena,

A Nerve conduction study is a test used to detect abnormal nerve responses,a slowing of nerve conduction. It is mildly discomforting. They will place little metal disks on the skin and send a mild electric current through it to see if the nerves are damaged,it will give them an idea where and why.
Neurontin is a med used for neuropathic pain,it will make you a little sleepy until your body adjust to it,it can take a few weeks until you notice it working.
