I am a very clean hygenic person and a couple of days ago I noticed what looked like mucus on tp. It was clear with a bit of pink tinge to it. It's not enough to have to wear pads but still worried me. I have never seen anything that resembled snot down there before. There is no odor to it whatsoever, good or bad.
I had abnormal cells that were precancerous about 8 months ago and had a leep procedure which didn't take care of it. They froze my cervex and the doctor said my next pap was ok. Now I'm havin some crampy feelings and still a little of that clear stretchy stuff, not as much as 2 days ago. Still no odor, no blood traces now, though.

I also had a cyst in one of my overies about 1 year ago the dr. was thinkin was a dermoid cyst. All of a sudden my doctor said it was gone. Is that possible. That was about 1 year ago.

My last concern is the fact that I have these little growths right around the inside of the opening of my vaginal area. They are smooth and long and skinny. I asked my doctor about genital warts and he said they weren't. Could that be skin tags or polyps and are those dangerous. Also today my back is hurtin a little bit. I'm concerned the back ache may have to do with some of this stuff.

Clear, mucousy discharge is 100% normal. All women secrete this discharge around the time of ovulation, although sometimes you may not notice it. It's consistency is similar to that of semen and therefore sperm are able to swim through it easily which helps them reach a waiting egg. In fact, when women are trying to get pregnant, they often look for this discharge as a sign that they should have sex because they are probably ovulating. A lot of women also feel some pain or cramping when they ovulate as well (it's called "mittelschmerz").

For the record, you don't ever have to worry about odorless discharge that is clear, cloudy white, or slightly yellow.

Also, if you asked your doctor about the growths and he wasn't concerned, then don't be worried. There are all kinds of normal little bumps that you can find around the vulva/vagina.

Thank you for your input, hon. I was freakin that my pre cancer was back or had turned cancerous. I'll still get it checked out but you made me feel better. And with havin to worry about finding a place to live and a career that has been put on hold, that is a big compliment!!!

dear heather
I had treatment in 1989 for cervical cell changes associated with hpv. Since then my smears have always been negative but I also occasionally get blood tinged discharge around the middle of the cycle (which I believe can be quite normal around ovulation). every time it happens I freak though as I always have the fear that the cell changes might come back, or that they might have missed something on a smear.

I am awaiting a smear result right now and am hoping eveything is ok. I hate these womens problems so much.
