If youve had it I woudl love to hear yoru experiences with both. I hve bled 8.5 months due to the Depo shot. I HAVE to have some relief and I can only see ablation giving me a chance. None of the hormonal treatments hav worked and I am desperate for a better quality of life. I woudl greatly appreciate your responses.. cause Im making an appointment with my ob/gyn to demand something be done and done NOW. ;)

I had an ablation and D&C done in May due to heavy bleeding. I haven't had a period since!!! My doctor said that I very well may not.
The surgery was a snap - I was home from the hospital in 6 hours, and back to work in 2 days.
I did make the mistake of not taking the pain medication for the 10 days that my Doctor recommended, and did end up with very bad pain 3 days after the surgery, but I went back on the meds and was fine.
A few of my friends have had the ablation done, and they either stopped bleeding or just bleed for 1 or 2 days, very lightly.
The only drawback, and I'm not even sure if this is from the ablation, I have become very dry and need to use KY - I've never had to do that before. But I will gladly take dryness over constant bleeding.
Hope this helped - Good luck with your decision.
