hi,
Thank you guys.

Well no diet pills for me, just a lot of determination/hard work.
motivation has alot to do with weight loss and the people around you/or the good people in these healthboards sure help too.

After I learn my different food groups, I started counting calories and exercising everyday, each day longer than the last until I had me a regular routine down.

oh yeah did I mention ''motivation?''...> my g/f tralvels out of town a lot/job and she (I guess) was my biggest motivation of all...she said N.W.L. = N.S.
(N.W.L.) means ''no weight loss''......(N.S.) means you guess it..''no sex''...;)
nah just kiddin... thats just a personal thing between us.
but
I did prove her wrong...if it was just 8 oz weight loss..it still weight loss, so I did'nt have to miss out.....lol .

but yes it is a wonderful feeling to be back down to a decent weight
I feel better look better and I want to get them new blue jeans as soon as payday rolls around.;) I just have to keep on doing what I been doing, I don 't want my weight to slip back on me.

Way to go ChevyMann! that is so awesome. You should be so proud of yourself. I hit my goal as well last night. I don't like to make my goal in pounds because I am gaining muscle while losing fat, so they almost contradict each other. My goal was a pair of jeans I haven't fit into in over 9 years and by golly, I zipped those suckers up last night! I also have lost 2 sizes in just 9 weeks...all on my own!

hi,
well sinse January of this year I have lost 48lbs. but my total weight loss is 64lbs..I was 60 lbs over weight according to my height when I first started out and was concidered obese, and I don't like that word...lol

I was the typical yo yo dietiter, and was just sick and tired of being sick and tired (OF BEING FAT)...so thats why I started counting calories, I could eat what I wanted but not as much as I was use to eatting, and it was and still is interesting to keep track of what I eat and my calories.

I do enjoy being at a decent weight, feel better look better, my clothes fit me right and I get more looks that what I'm use to, this how ever is causing a problem with my g/f...she is kinda jealousy/ but I'm eatting it up....lol
I just tell her ''Darling your the one thats won my heart''.
but seriously she stood behind me the whole way.
BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUSSTION I LOST ABOUT 64 TOTAL LBS.

Chevyman,
That is totally awesome!! I am soooo..proud of you. You are an inspriation to those of us that are still struggling. I had back surgery in April and have got to lose at least 75 pounds, preferably 100. Thanks for the input.

Thanks.
If you had back surgery, I realize you have a lot of other issiues other than loseing weight, but if you start loseing I know you will feel better and your back will recover along just fine if not sooner, just becareful and not over do things, and try to eat more healthy food groups, becareful when you get up and lay down things like that, I'm sure your Dr is giving you those hi -power vitamins shots?
Do some reserch on back surgery if you haven't already/ they will tell you what foods to eat for better healing.after you get to where you can get around better, I recommend that you start counting calories, its a little hard at first, you can get use to it after about a month or so, but this way you can eat what you want, just not as much, its the only thing that has help me lose all my weight and keep it off.
theres a few of us in here that do count calories, ''leinn'', ''bluejbirdie'', they can explain to you better than what I can how it works and why its good for your body to count calories, thats about the only way you will be able to lose weight.
ATKINS IS GOOD FOR SOME FOLKS BUT TO ME THAT LOW CARB DIETING AS NOT BEEN PROVED TO BE SAFE IN THE LONG RUN YEARS AHEAD?
LOW-FAT CALORIE COUNTING IS HE WAY TO GO.
Thats just my opinion, you do what you feel is right for you, but at least do a little reserch.
some peple go to weight loss clinics for help, the Dr's there will check you out check your B.P. ask you your past medical condition, and if you quilfli they will usally give you a energy shot and some meds to help curb your aptite, thats for people that just have trouble loseing weight?
I guess you might say its the last thing to try before that dreaded gastric bypass, to me counting calories is the eazy way.
counting calories will make you think before putting that something into your mouth lol....(no pun intended)
I wish you the best with your back surgery and your weight loss and everything els in life that come up on a daily basis.
the best of health to you.

Congratulations Chevvy.

I'm there too (but I might pare off another 7# over the next year for 190# at a muscular 6'2".)

It's important that we all transition from weight loss to WEIGHT CONTROL without missing a beat because there's nothing sadder than relaxing and gaining all the weight back seemingly OVERNIGHT.

I've taken off 5 pounds in the last YEAR and that is enough for me and if I take off only another 2 by New Years, that's fine.

Nothing, especially not a perfect weight, could induce me to stop counting calories...EVER.
In fact, on my deathbed, I'll say to the nurse "If I DIE during the night, please record the calories in that last IV...my notebook is in the night table."

p.s. My magic number is very close to 2400 calories.
