Last night Kayla all of a sudden got really congested. So then I tried to pump her nose out, but nothing would come out. Then I started to notice that she wasn't breathing well because there was mucus in her throat. I couldn't figure out what to do. So at 2:00 am, we took her to the hospital. Needless to say they took forever to get to her, a by the time they did, she had coughed up everything and was fine. So the docter, apparently not believing a word that I said, tells me she is fine and gives my 8 month old baby a prescription for ventillin. Isn't that for asthma? Anyway, they sent us home. I was still scared out of my mind from the earlier episode. And now I am wondering, what do I do tonight? I can't take her to the dr till tommorow, because today is Sunday. Am I dumb for not knowing what to do, or did we run into a dumb dr? Nikky

Ventalin helps ALOT when kids are congested. My daughter has a prescription for it and it has been a lifesaver when she is having trouble due to a cold or whatever. It isn't only for asthma it opens up the airways for them to be able to breathe better.Hope that helps.

Thank you for that info. I will keep that in mind. I don't like that I was made to feel dumb. It's was like I couldv'e been doing something else at 2:00 am, like sleeping. But I will keep the Ventalin in mind....thanks. Nikky
