For the past 3 weeks my Dad has had swelling under his chin, no pain but I can feel something there...it's kind of firm...at first I thought it was part of his pneumonia and it was swollen glands...at the time it was almost like a rope just inside his lower jaw bone...it seemed to go away but then it came back about a week ago...now it's a lump about the size of a small plum...there isn't any pain but he has a lot of coughing and phlegm...he saw his oncologist last monday but aside from telling us he had only seen this once before, he didn't have a whole lot to say...he said they would have to schedule a ct scan but that was it...I got Dad in to see his primary care md today and he did lab work and ordered an US of the neck...I'll have to call in the am to see what our next move is...I hope he doesn't have to go into the hospital...he absolutely hates being in the hospital...he has been in the hospital at least a dozen times in the last 3 years...pacemaker,wound closure,umbilical hernia, pneumonia, feeding tube placement...has anyone ever heard of this and if so what was it and what was the outcome:confused: thank you
