I will let you know the basics, I lost a baby in April, had a D&C, a week later an emergency D&C for a clot. I was put on a STRONG antibiotic for two days. I never went back for my followup. Well I experienced annoying problems...now I have severe diahrea, nausea. If I am LUCKY I can eat one thing a day. I ate two spoons full of cheerios yesterday. It makes me feel too sick to eat, drinking fluids is becoming a problem now too. Now my doc got in her head it may be the antibiotic the gyne gave me in APRIL that may be causing the problems. But just sets up appointments to "Talk" about my symptoms, what she doesnt think it is...and I'm left wasting my time and energy. I'm on the verge of no longer trying to eat what little I do...I have had those cheerios and 1/2 of a piece of toast in 5 days, and I'm considering stopping all fluids in order to make this stop...anyone have any ideas on what this is and what I should do??? I'm losing strength fast...and weight...10 pounds in a week and a half...I'm a single parent...just need to be ok for him...help? suggestions? clues?

Meegan, Have you tried a probiotic? Antibiotics can wipe out the "good bugs" in the gut & leave one prone to the bad guys taking over. Probiotics help replace the good guys. If you can do yogurt with active cultures each day, that's a start. Or try taking a probiotic supplement. You should know within 10 days whether there is any improvement.
If that doesn't help, please ask your PCP for a referral to a gastroenterologist. If your doc is all talk, no action, she's treating you as if you are suffering from "functional" problems. i.e. stress/all in your head/depression. It's time to rule out physical causes, and only a specialist is gonna do that.
Best wishes.

Hi, will try to "stomache" yogurt haha no pun intended...see I have a doc, which there seems to be alot out there, that does blood work, urine samples and an internal (on women of course), and say's well, I don't think your uterus is infected...come back next week and we'll see if you still feel the same. You come back and it's a quick abdominal exam and " Your hemogoblin looks fine" come back next week...The doc's wonder why people wait sooo long to seek help when THAT is the help people are recieving..I will try yogurt and see if it stays in....thank you sooo much..

I hope the yogurt helps. Remember to look for one that says "active cultures."
Some people get sick from dairy. If that's you, a probiotic capsule would be a better investment. (Health Food Store.)
Why not network around your community & see if there are any better docs ... IMO, you need a PCP who won't be afraid to refer you to a gastro, if the probiotics don't help.
Best wishes.
